The monograph reviews which changes of groundwater’s movement conditions, influenced by mining activities, lead to the development of karst catastrophic phenomena, and how these processes are developed. For the first time the quantitative description is proposed in relation to the karst processes that occur around and in salt mines. Examples of disastrous karst prevention were given, as also ways to deal with karst hazards.
The monograph is intended for geologists, geographers, scientists, chiefs of regional and district councils and for a broad range of readers.
