A current state of the mineral base and a degree of prospecting works within the Ciscarpathian Saliferous Basin has been characterised. The history of geological development, features of halogenesis and salt-bearing capacity of the Ciscarpathian Depression have been described, the regularities of potassium and rock salt deposits have been considered, a predictive estimate of their resources has been given. By the example of the Kalush mining region a current state, engineering and geological conditions have been disclosed, environmentally hazardous facilities have been described; ways to solve the problems of ecological situation stabilization in this area have been proposed. The salt exploration and prospecting technique in the Ciscarpathian region has been analyzed, an economic-geological estimate of salt deposits has been given.
The monograph is intended for geologists, ecologists, scientists, experts dealing with environmental issues, and also students of geological and ecological specialties of higher educational institutions and a wide range of readers.
