35th International Geological Congress 2016 was held from 27 August till 4 September 2016 in Cape Town International Conference Centre (CTICC), South Africa. This event contributed to attract more than 4,000 participants from 120 countries. It was attended by representatives of national geological services, exploration and mining companies, scientific research institutions worldwide that had an opportunity to present the most important results of their activities during the Thematic Sessions and Symposia.
There were accepted 4,824 abstracts from over 5,200 submissions, of which 3087 are oral presentations and 1,737 are posters. These were divided between the three core topics: Geoscience for Society (31%), Geoscience in the Economy (24%) and Fundamental Geoscience (45%).
Georgii Rudko, Chairman of State Commission of Ukraine on Mineral Resources, gave a speech at two Sessions and delivered oral and poster presentations.
