The SPE Oil and Gas Reserves Committee (OGRC) released Guidelines for Application of the Petroleum Resources Management System (SPE-PRMS) with an aim to encourage transparency in the international oil and reserves reporting system.
Nowadays, the standards harmonization for the Ukrainian Reserves Classification and international codes such as SPE-PRMS is a high priority task for Ukraine, which is on the way of its European integration. Therefore, the accession of State Commission of Ukraine on Mineral Resources to the Society of Petroleum Engineers can be considered an important step towards the implementation of international standards for reserves estimation in Ukraine in order to improve business and investment in the oil and gas industry of our country.
